I have been thinking long and hard about whether to continue blogging – or my attempts at blogging. The reason? I saw my raw website results for the first time in the week and these were quite gutting. Only one follower in fact and the most visitors in one day has been 18. The likes have all come via my Facebook page so not from the website itself.
I try to be amusing but the interest in what I write about would be limited – my books, football and TV mostly.
But then I had to think what I was doing this for. In insurance we there is a term ‘proximate cause’ which means the active cause that brings about a chain of events which has an end result. Working backwards from this, the result I was aiming for was multitudinous book sales. The website was created to direct people to my books on Amazon. The blog was started to keep the website active. The end results have not happened yet but the website is young.
What I do know is that I get more visitors when a blog goes out and even if I am only entertaining one person, that is better than nothing. So blog on.
I would just add a Happy Birthday to the NHS and if we all have our most important and highest achievement in our seventy second year then it would be no more amazing than the job they have done in recent months.
Buy a Rainbow Cake and toast the NHS with a piece.
